We just completed David Clark's 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Broughams automatic trunk opening and closing system. At Allen Carswells Pro Auto Interiors And Tops, We have the ability to completely restore all components of this complex system to factory spec's. We will rewire and refurbish all 3 trunk motor assemblies, Limit switches, Relay Control unit, and detail to factory specs, meaning if the part was painted, it will be stripped and repainted to exact detail. if the part was originally bare metal, it will be cleaned and oil washed. All wiring will be identical to the gauge and color. We duplicate the entire wiring assembly and bench test to verify all components work as originally intended. To eliminate grounding problems, we add a heavy ground to the Rear compartment lid closing unit, as the original ground was supplied through the lid hinges, (not the best design) and supply enough wire to create a more stable ground to the car body. We also upgrade the 15 Amp Circuit breaker in the relay control box to a modern more durable 15 amp auto reset Circuit breaker to provide more protection. All energizing (latching) relays, distributing relays contacts are polished to remove and arcing residue. All system parts will be properly lubricated, electrical and mechanical. It is always best to have the car in our shop so that we can verify that the wiring harness in your car is in proper condition prior to energizing. It is sometimes necessary to repair or replace the wiring harness in the trunk due to wear and age. It is our goal to provide our customers with a dependable, fully functioning system that can be operated from the latch switch and the glove box switches. David Clark's 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham is a complete, fully functioning Brougham, from the headlights to the tail lights and everything in between, which truly makes this a RARE piece of art! It is our hope that we can help you achieve the same results.

Allen Carswell's Pro Auto Interiors & Tops would like to Congratulate David Clark on his recent Championship showing of his 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham! David was awarded the nationally recognized award of the AACA Grand National Overall Champion. This is THE most PRESTIGIOUS award of this vehicle class in America! He also took Top Honors by receiving the Ray Crook Award at the 2014 60th Anniversary North Carolina Spring Meet! The 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was a hand built limited edition Four- Door Hard Top Sedan derived from the Park Avenue and New Orleans Show cars of 1953 & 1954. The car was designed by Ed Glowacke. Buyers of the Broughams had a choice of 44 full leather interior trim combinations. We at Allen Carswell's Pro Auto Interiors & Tops have been Pleased to assist David Clark in the Restoration of this Great National Winner! We are currently 'tweaking' some of the electronics and leather interior trim for his next showing. 2006 VW Beetle Convertible. Completed repair and installation of this Beetle. Sad story on this little car. When we relocated our business, the car owner couldn't find us and settled on using a shop that had no experience in installing this system. Long story short, that shop did a lot of damage and never got the top on correctly. Costing the customer over $3500.00 plus the attorney fees in trying to recoup their loss. Lesson, Just because a Trim shop says they can do something, ask for proof. All reputable shops can provide references. At Allen Carswells Pro Auto Interiors and tops, we have over 30 years experience and satisfied customers! We look forward to helping you realize your dreams. As always our work is Guaranteed! |
